These services are designed to empower you to reach your goals without compromising your mental, emotional, or financial stability.

  1. PATH assists tertiary students from beneficiary households with bursaries of $100,000.00 paid directly to the attending institutions to help with the cost of tuition. Eligibility for the bursary requires the student to have a GPA of 2.5 or above from the previous year, and the course of study must be accredited.

  2. Students must present a letter of acceptance and a college transcript along with other identifying documents (ID, TRN). These documents should be submitted to the Ministry of Labour office.

JAMVAT helps tertiary students who qualify for college admission and are experiencing financial difficulties to cover their tuition costs. The participating students should be willing to contribute to the nation’s social capital by completing 200 hours of public service. Upon completion, the JAMVAT programme will reward the student with 30% of the tuition payment, not exceeding $350,000.00

Conditions

  1. NB: Only government and non-profit organizations are approved for this component.
  2. Applicants must be aged 18 – 35 years on or before December 31 of the year of application.
  3. Applicants must be a full-time student and maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.

Steps for Applying

  1. Download the application form from the Ministry of Education’s Website at https://tsap.moey.gov.jm/jamvat
  2. Attach a certified copy of birth certificate, valid ID and TRN.
  3. New students must attach a certified copy of their acceptance letter (no more than 6 months old).
  4. Returning students must attach a status letter and an official transcript with proof of GPA (no more than 6 months old).
  5. Tuition letter.
  6. Passport Sized photograph.
  7. Students will then be prompted to register on the Ministry of Education’s website.

The Marcus Garvey Scholarship was established by Jamaican-American businessman Carlos Daley, whose life was transformed by the teachings of Jamaica’s first National Hero, the Right Excellent Marcus Mosiah Garvey. This scholarship aims to uplift and empower students at Trench Town Polytechnic College who embody the spirit, values, and philosophies of Marcus Garvey, including a strong commitment to education, pride, self-determination, and community upliftment. Through this scholarship, Mr. Daley not only honours Garvey’s legacy but also reinforces TTPC’s mission to provide inclusive, industry-relevant education that drives innovation and sustainable development.

To be eligible for the Marcus Garvey Scholarship, applicants must:

  1. Be a Second-Year student enrolled in an associate degree programme at TTPC.
  2. Maintain a strong academic record, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0.
  3. Demonstrate financial need, especially in covering tuition costs.
  4. Exhibit Garveyite attributes, such as:
    • Leadership in their community or school.
    • A strong sense of racial pride and cultural identity.
    • Advocacy for social justice and community development.
    • Consistency, discipline, and self-motivation.
    • Be committed to uplifting themselves and others, especially those in underserved or inner-city communities.

Application Requirements

Applicants must submit the following:

  1.  Completed Application Form.
  2.  Personal Essay (500–700 words)
     Topic: “How the philosophies of Marcus Garvey inspire my education and commitment to community development.”
  3. Academic Transcript showing current GPA.
  4. Proof of Financial Need (can include a short statement or letter from a guardian or financial aid office).
  5. Character Reference Letter from a lecturer, community leader, or mentor.
