Rather than focusing on where or how the learning occurred, PLAR evaluates what a person knows and can demonstrate against established academic or occupational standards. This approach promotes equity and access by validating diverse learning pathways, accelerating credential completion, and supporting lifelong learning—especially for adult and non-traditional learners.
