Trench Town Polytechnic College (TTPC) has successfully hosted its very first Virtual Information Session on Thursday, May 29, 2025. This marks a promising future for the College’s digital outreach and student recruitment efforts.
Held via Zoom, the session welcomed 46 attendees from a pool of 66 registrants, offering prospective students and parents an engaging look into TTPC’s academic programmes. Though just shy of the 100-attendee goal, the event exceeded expectations for a first-time initiative with no paid promotion.
“This is a strong start,” said Dr. Dosseth Edwards Watson, Principal of TTPC. “We recognize the digital challenges we face—including an under-optimized website—but this session showed us what’s possible when our team pulls together. We are already building on this momentum.”
The event featured lecturers from key departments, each delivering a concise five-minute presentation on their courses and career pathways. Presenters included Mr. Richard Hudson (Computer Studies / Forklift Operations), Mr. Sean Simpson (Hospitality), Nurse Chantal Doyley (Allied Health / Phlebotomy), Ms. Cherene Perkins (Business Administration), and Mr. Ashbourne Payne (Fitness Management).
Social media analytics revealed a spike in engagement following the session. The professionalism of the TTPC-branded visuals and the enthusiasm of presenters further underscored the College’s commitment to excellence.
Looking ahead, TTPC plans to host regular virtual sessions, expanding its digital presence and making access to education more convenient and inclusive for students across Jamaica.
