TTPC’s Back-to-School Health Fair & Concert Brings Community Together

Trench Town Polytechnic College (TTPC) proudly hosted its annual Back-to-School Community Event on Saturday, August 16, 2025, welcoming more than 250 patrons; including families and children, for a day filled with music, wellness, and togetherness.

The event, endorsed by the Most Honourable Mark Golding, Member of Parliament, blended entertainment with purpose. Attendees enjoyed lively performances, fun activities, and refreshments, while also accessing essential resources from organisations such as the National Health Fund, Carimed, HEART NSTA Trust (CTI), Tax Administration Jamaica, the Registrar General’s Department, and others.

A highlight of the day was the launch of the Marcus Garvey Scholarship, established by Jamaican-American businessman Mr. Carlos Daley. Inspired by Garvey’s teachings, Daley has pledged to fund tuition for TTPC students who demonstrate academic excellence, self-reliance, and a commitment to social change. “We are proud to have the support of Mr. Daley, whose scholarship initiative echoes the mission of TTPC and Garvey’s legacy of empowerment through education,” shared Principal Dr. Dosseth Edwards Watson.

The event was coordinated by Mr. Nyron Creary with strong support from staff, especially Nurse Allicia Hylton. With its resounding success, TTPC looks forward to making this celebration a permanent tradition.
